Prayer

Prayer Testimonies

What is prayer? Prayer is a manner in which we as human beings take the opportunity to personally communicate with God.

What is the purpose of prayer? Many people wonder why others pray. Who's really listening? Prayer is your way of one acknowledging the existence of a higher power, two humbling yourself in recognition of that being, and three connecting with that higher power.

What happens during prayer? When you begin to pray, you enter into a realm at which you not only exist physically but also spiritually. If you can imagine God waits eagerly by a telephone, waiting in hope that it will ring and you will be the other person on the line. When you begin to pray, the phone rings and who answers but an ever ready God!

Who should pray? Many people think that only preachers, rabbi, priests or those whom are "overly religious" should pray. Well everyone is entitled to their own opinion. At Gotestify we believe that all people no matter what their relationship with God is, still have the right and power to pray!

How should we pray? Jesus answers, "and when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by men. I tell you the truth, they have received their reward in full. But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you. And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words. Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him. con't -

"What should we say?

'Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. Forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one'

'For if you forgive men when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.'

(Matthew 6:5)

'And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints'

(Ephesians 6:18)
